Starting yesterday at 8PM and continuing through November 1, the Nintendo World store in New York City is closed for renovations.
Upgrades to the Rockefeller Plaza store include new floors and lighting, and expanded Nintendo Showcase section, and Nintendo DSi and DSi XL hands-on kiosks. Nintendo World plans to host a November 7 reopening ceremony to celebrate the new look and hopefully some new games for the holiday 2010 season.
According to Nintendo, nearly 4 million people passed through Nintendo World's doors since the store's opening in May 2005. Another five years, and it'll officially outlive Sony's Metreon PlayStation Store in San Francisco which closed in 2009.
Keep an eye on this page for details on the Nov. 7 event.
