THQ signs Assassin's Creed lead for Montreal studio plans

THQ announced that it plans to launch a new studio in Montreal next summer. Heading up that studio is Patrice Desilets, the former Creative Director for the Assassin's Creed series and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

The former Ubisoft Montreal employee left the company in June of this year to take a short sabbatical break from the games industry. The Desilets exodus from Ubisoft Montreal followed the departure of Clint Hocking earlier in the year and Jade Raymond, who left the studio to assume control of the new Ubisoft Toronto studio.

THQ did not disclose much about the new studio, save that Desilets would be in charge, and would begin the process of hiring employees. This new team will develop all-new intellectual property for THQ.

Game Talent company Creative Artists Agency represented Desilets.
