Casual games giant PopCap Games announced a new entry in the Bejeweled series this morning due out just in time for the holidays.
Bejeweled 3 is the first "true" sequel to PopCaps mega-franchise in six years. The match-three puzzle game got minor makeovers in spin-off games like Bejeweled Blitz and Bejeweled Twist. Bejeweled 3 builds on some of the modes explored in Blitz and Twist, as well as adding some new mode of its own.
Here's what PopCap says to expect:
- Classic: The same game but with better graphics.
- Quest: A "journey through 40 magical puzzles."
- Zen: A customizable mode "with ambient sounds and binaural beats" designed to help you zone out.
- Lightning: A speed mode.
The game also boasts four secret games with names like Butterflies and Ice Storm. Additionally, there are 65 in-game badges players can earn for the purposes of bragging rights.
Bejeweled 3 hits PC and Mac simultaneously on December 7 for $20. No word yet on when we can look for it on iPhone, World of Warcraft, Facebook or any of the other platforms where Bejeweled thrives.
