The myth behind PETA's "vegetarians make better lovers" Meat Boy gag

Animal rights activist group PETA launched a Super Meat Boy parody game today titled Super Tofu Boy. The game advocates that vegetarians make better lovers -- and here's where they get off saying that.

First, have a look at the game -- which is pretty adorable and fun to play:

Now have a look at the "facts" about vegetarians and sex as PETA sees them on their Living blog:

  • The Erectile Dysfunction Institute says that as much as 90 percent of all impotence cases are caused by physical (as opposed to psychological) complaints like high cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, prostate cancer or inflammations, and hormonal imbalances.
  • According to PETA, all of these conditions can be "managed or in some cases even prevented" with a vegan diet.
  • Viagra doesn't work. For, like, 1/4 of the people who take it.
  • Some Danish study says you can exercise longer with a meat-free diet.
  • "Eating a meat-laden diet greatly increases the amount of synthetic hormones that your body takes in. These hormones may contribute to a reduced sperm count and an increased risk of testicular tumors."

The one "fact" PETA didn't push in its "vegetarians make better lovers" campaign is that allegedly meat-free men have better-tasting semen. We applaud the omission of this myth as "taste" is entirely subjective.
