EA announces that the Madden NFL franchise is going to be its first sports series to appear on the Nintendo 3DS, debuting in the first half of 2011 for the 3D handheld's launch.
The plans for 3D include Spotlight Moments, in which "additional features jump off the screen," according to EA's press release, and a presentation tailored to 3D, including 3D cameras. The game also uses the touch screen with a Call Your Shots mode that lets players draw up their own plays. Standard Madden modes such as 11-on-11, 5-on-5, and the Season mode are also in the plans.
EA North Carolina is the developer.
