We run a lot of lawsuit news stories, but a $400 million suit between the two largest video game publishers in the world is a new one for us. What's your take on it?
You can get caught up on the whole Infinity Ward/Activision/Respawn/EA drama here. We're not here to tell you how to feel a bout any particular person or company, but we sometimes wonder just how much you guys really care who sues whom for how much. You Tell Us: Why we should or shouldn't care about Activision suing EA. Best answer(s) win the least violent game we have in the office.
By and large most of you told us that we shouldn't care for one reason or another. The only person who said otherwise obviously has a good sense of humor:
@GamePro you should care because EA is the Antichrist, and this lawsuit holds the fate of all mankind in it's grasp
But for our winners, we're going with the five most level-headed responses. The lawsuit stories -- especially the ones around Activision -- have a way of drawing out the kind of people who just like to trash talk. Which, ironically, is really all the lawsuits are: corporate trash-talk.
So here are the winning Tweets in today's You Tell Us:
@GamePro You should not care about Activision suing EA because it does not make their game releases any better.
@Gamepro Lawsuits are nothing new in businesses, even more so for the game industry.
@GamePro Shouldn't care. Unless you own stock in either company. Activision is trying to pull one over on us. Its about money. Not games.
@GamePro well as long as they release their games on time Activision can go sue everyone they want
@GamePro We shouldn't care because we aren't ever going to get the full story, rumors and myth will just continue to drive everyone crazy
The peaceful winners have earned the right to Hello Kitty: Seasons -- the least violent game we have in the GamePro office. Hit us up via Direct Message on Twitter to claim your prize.
