New deal brings more Disney content to Netflix

Netflix and Disney-ABC Television Group announce a deal today that gives subscribers access to streamed movie and television content from Disney's family of networks such as ABC, Disney Channel, and ABC Family.

Disney-ABC Domestic Television brokered the deal with Netflix.

The agreement sees new television content released to Netflix 15 days after initial telecast, and adds a significant amount of older episodes from such shows as Lost, Ugly Betty, Brothers & Sisters, Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, Scrubs, and Reaper.

Disney Channel content makings its way to Netflix includes Phineas and Ferb, Good Luck Charlie, The Suite Life on Deck, Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.

TV content from ABC Family includes Greek, Make It or Break It, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and Melissa & Joey. This deal marks the first time that ABC Family content is available outside broadcast television.

Finally, the new deal delivers movie content from Disney such as High School Musical, High School Musical 2, Camp Rock, Beauty & the Briefcase, Avalon High, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, and Revenge of the Bridesmaids," will also be available to watch at Netflix.

Netflix recently announced a new streaming-only membership plan for $7.99 a month. Netflix is available through Internet-connected devices such as the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Internet TV's, and Windows PCs.
